Overview

This site supports the Scouting activities of the Comanche Trails District within the South Plains Council of the Boy Scouts of America

The Comanche Trails District forms the eastern border of the South Plains Council and home to its primary camping facility: Camp Post. Communities of the Comanche Trails District include Post, Floydada, Crosbyton, Lorenzo, Jayton, Spur, Dickens, Ralls and others within the region. The units in our area are sponsored by local schools, churches and civic organizations. Scouts benefit the local community through service projects, Eagle projects and area wide “Good Turns.”

There's always something going on in the Comanche Trail District. Feel free to contact our officers to get information about local events and how to sign up if you're not already involved in one of Scouting's many programs.

The district also hosts an associated chapter of the Nakona Lodge of Scouting's national honor society, the Order of the Arrow, an excellent way to involve exemplary Scouts in service to their units, the district, council and community.

District Contacts and Information

Our District Director is Jason Gates.  He can be contacted via the Council Office as listed on the South Plains Council Web site, or directly by email if needed.  Richard Hudman is the District Chairman. Trevor Thuett serves as OA Chapter Adviser.

As a general guide, unless listed differently in the calendar shown to the right, District Committee meetings are held the xxxx XXXXX evening of each month beginning 7:00 pm.

Roundtables are generally held the yyyy YYYY evening of each month beginning 7:00 pm at the ZZZZ. This is a great way for ALL adult leaders and youth interested in improving the value and quality of the Scouting program for their units to learn how to do so.  Order of the Arrow chapter meetings are encouraged at the same time and evening at the same location.
